Fat loss food doesn’t have to be bland. These sweet and spicy fat-burning smoothies, created by sports nutrition specialist Scott Baptie, are packed with tasty ingredients that boast an array of fat-fighting properties. Taste the burn.

1. Banana-Oat Smoothie:

When it comes to good, healthy food, bananas are one of the smartest choices you can make. They’re rich in potassium, they’re an effective prebiotic that helps your body absorb calcium and they help you fight depression by increasing dopamine and serotonin levels. Oh, and they’re rich in resistant starch, which helps you feel full for longer and burn more calories because it prompts your body to use fat for energy. If you’re not the breakfast type or just looking for an afternoon snack that will tide you over until dinner time.

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 cup prepared quick-cooking oats
  • 1/2 plain greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated orange rind
  • 1 large banana, sliced

Combine all the ingredients in a blender, then pulse until smooth. That’s it!

2. Spinach Banana Protein Smoothie:

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  • 2/3 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 banana
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1 huge handful spinach

Combine all the ingredients in a blender, then pulse until smooth. That’s it!

3. Orange and Chilli Fat-Burning Smoothie:

Oranges are rich in vitamin C and it’s high levels burn fat more efficiently. Chilli contains capsaicin, which – as well as its metabolism boosting properties

Ingredients:

  • 1 orange
  • ½ a chilli
  • 1 scoop of whey protein isolate
  • 400ml green tea, cold
  • Handful of kale

Combine all the ingredients in a blender, then pulse until smooth. That’s it!



4. Mango Mint Protein Smoothie:

Mint and mangos are so good together and the mangos make the Mint Mango Protein Smoothie so thick and creamy! I also made a refreshing Mango Mint Energizing Smoothie for the girls and we put that into pops! Yum!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup non dairy milk
  • 1 scoop natural unflavored protein powder
  • 1/2 ripe mango flesh, chunks
  • 6-8 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 cup ice

Combine all the ingredients in a blender, then pulse until smooth. That’s it!

5. Healthy Red Velvet Smoothies:

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup chopped raw red beets
  • 4 medium hulled strawberries
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup skim (or unsweetened almond) milk
  • 2 dried and pitted dates, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon agave syrup

Combine all the ingredients in a blender, then pulse until smooth. That’s it!

6. Apple Pecan Pie Smoothie:

OK so the first thing that you think of when you see apple pecan pie is certainly not a healthy, fat burning smoothie. This recipe is delicious and dresses up pretty, too. To make it you will need:

Ingredients:

  • An apple with the skin left on
  • ¼ unsalted pecans
  • 1 cup unsweetened coconut milk
  • 3 to 4 ice cubes
  • 1 tablespoons vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon coconut butter
  • A dash of cinnamon to taste
  • A dash of nutmeg
  • Just a few drops of stevia liquid or another sweetener to taste.

Combine all the ingredients in a blender, then pulse until smooth. That’s it!
